The Collection / Kawasaki H2B 750 1974

In this third year of production Kawasaki upheld the hell raising reputation of the H2 by maintaining its blistering performance but perhaps in a nod of responsibility dialed in some welcome handling improvements.

The H2 Kawasaki's ooze charisma and charm and provide abundant rider thrills and satisfaction - and they make a very sound investment as well.

1974 Kawasaki H2B 750 in the best possible un-restored condition with just 10,000 miles from new. For sale from Proper Bikes UK

The 750 cc triple cylinder motors snarl and crackle while belch two-stroke smoke in a pastiche of aural & nasal nostalgia.

Quite remarkably they deliver a high amount of low rev torque ahead of the expected rush of power and this makes them far more usable and rideable than those riding an H2 for the first time would ever expect.

These electrifying motors launched the model headlong into the then conservative motorcycle world in 1972 commanding its fullest attention. Kawasaki’s well recognized lag in frame development at the time only helped cement the bikes fearsome reputation and forged the legend forever.

However, despite minimal evolution of the model throughout the next three years, which consisted of little more than a slight increase in engine civility and a degree of subtle restyling, there was a notable improvement made to the handling.

For the 1974 H2B model wheelbase was increased by a dramatic inch and a half and the geometry was tweaked which all but dialled out the notorious bucking and weaving and so made the 'B' a much nicer place to spend rider time.

This example is utterly exceptional and must be amongst the nicest and most appealing un-restored H2s anywhere. It shows minimal signs of age and rides perfectly. All original components are still fitted including wheels, exhaust, seat - and even the front tyre! The original Candy Brown paintwork is stunning in the sunshine and looks absolutely 'seventies'.

It had just one owner in America who used it for the first two summers before dry storing it for the next 27! It came to the UK in 2004 having covered just 6,999 miles and was sympathetically recommissioned including expert replacement of the crankshaft seals. It remains mechanically faultless and the engine maintains exceptional compression on its original pistons and bores. It pulls like a train and runs very quietly indeed.

It is complete with brochures, handbook, spare key, original toolkit, spark plug holder and good history file with all UK MOTs and is road tax exempt.

A very special and collectable Japanese motorcycle.
