Released in 1978, the CBX had a huge impact which has possibly never been matched. Magazine testers referred to it as "a revelation" and one stated that "history will rank it with those rare and precious motorcycles which will never, ever be forgotten".
Original UK supplied
Unrestored and excellent
Near standard specification
Dyna S electronic ignition
Extensive history file
The impact was mainly because of its 1047cc, 24 valve, six cylinder engine but the whole machine was revolutionary and ultra modern in looks and design.
The engine delivered 105 BHP and the bike itself handled the enormous power superbly with stable handling and fantastic brakes. It could reach 140mph which was sensational by standards of the day.
The magnesium cased engine revved to 9000rpm and the sound of this six cylinder motor at high revs is a something to behold. It was very expensive when new keeping production numbers low and increasing collectability today.
Proper Bikes are very pleased to have acquired this Candy Red CBX1000Z. It was originally supplied in the United Kingdom and has survived un-molested and in fine form. The last enthusiast owned this machine for 18 years and the history file is full of interesting brochures and cuttings etc as well as the service records.
It remains in standard specification apart from the reliability improvement of Dyna S electronic ignition and coils. We will shortly post detail images and further information.
